The company boasts a comprehensive portfolio, catering to both residential and business clients, encompassing mobile telecommunications, fixed network solutions, high-speed Internet, and state-of-the-art digital TV services.
As one of the most prominent providers of IT services in Switzerland, Swisscom takes pride in being a key player in the development and maintenance of cutting-edge wireless and wireline network infrastructures. Moreover, Swisscom's influence extends beyond traditional telecom, venturing into diverse sectors such as banking, energy, entertainment, advertising, and healthcare.
Swisscom was on a mission to revolutionize financial transactions using the remarkable capabilities of blockchain technology. As a step towards this ambitious goal, they developed a blockchain-based ledger that had a smart contract deployed on the Ropsten network and also had transaction authorization APIs.
To further propel this cutting-edge initiative, Swisscom was seeking expert assistance in seamlessly integrating their current authorization system with the blockchain ledger.
After understanding the client’s requirements, we developed the following solution:
A REST API was implemented to receive transaction requests
Received transactions were authorized by pooling the Swisscom APIs
Authorized transactions were stored in MongoDB and blockchain to preserve transaction records and ensure accessibility
The implemented solution proved to be a resounding success for Swisscom. They achieved seamless integration with the blockchain, ensuring secure storage of all transactions on both the blockchain and their local database.
Additionally, the plugin-based approach facilitated seamless future feature enhancements, while advanced analytics enabled them to analyze customer behavior, leading to more effective strategies.
Merchants also reaped the benefits of tailored variable pricing models and streamlined configuration-based CDR processing. The flexible billing system supported sub-orders, ensuring transparency and accuracy.
Lastly, a customizable discount-based promotion policy empowered merchants to boost sales, making the platform more appealing to businesses and customers alike.
